Sermorelin dosage in the published studies
The amounts answer different experimental questions. Population, route and outcome travel with each figure here.
Pediatric growth trial
The multicenter pediatric study gave GHRH(1-29) subcutaneously—into the tissue beneath the skin—at 30 micrograms/kg/day at bedtime. The children had growth-hormone deficiency. Their first-year height velocity increased from about 4.1 cm/year to roughly 7–8 cm/year, without excessive IGF-1 generation.
The weight-based amount, bedtime and pediatric diagnosis describe that trial together. Adult dosage summaries that borrow the number and discard the children strike me as peculiarly careless. Doing so changes the clinical question while preserving the appearance of precision.
Older men over 14 days
In Corpas and colleagues’ aging study, healthy older men received 0.5 mg and 1 mg subcutaneously twice daily for 14 days. The older group’s mean age was 68. Their GH and IGF-1 readings increased in a dose-related way, and the high-dose measures no longer differed from those of the young comparison group. Fasting glucose was unchanged.
The study measured hormone responses over that period. It supplies no general adult course length, and a normal-looking laboratory range leaves many questions about everyday benefit and long-term safety unanswered.
Intravenous and intranasal research
The pharmacokinetic experiment in 30 healthy men investigated intravenous amounts from 0.25–2 mcg/kg and the intranasal route. GH release occurred at amounts as low as 0.25 mcg/kg, with maximal release at 1–2 mcg/kg. Intranasal bioavailability was only 3–5%, meaning that little of the administered peptide reached circulation by that route.
I resist turning those results into a verdict on every oral or sublingual preparation: the experiment tested specified routes. Its useful contribution is the measured behavior of GHRH(1-29) under those conditions. The half-life comparison follows the difference between plasma clearance and the GH response.
Course length and preparation
A question such as “Is 3 months of Sermorelin enough?” asks for a personal treatment decision that these studies never made. The acute blood experiment observed a GH response over hours; the older-men study assessed changes over 14 days; the pediatric trial measured growth across the first year. Each duration served its original outcome.
The source material describes sermorelin acetate as a dry preparation that is reconstituted before administration, with aqueous peptide solutions susceptible to degradation. The drug-delivery review gives the stability and formulation context. Preparation, storage and an individual prescription require the responsible clinical and pharmacy services; the regimens above are a record of research, with no personal dose recommendation.
